Bumblebee Bat

What's so cool about a Bumblebee bat?

Bumblebee bats (also known as Kitti's hog-nosed bats) are the smallest
mammals in the world measuring at 29 to 33mm in length and 2g in mass.
That’s about the size of...well, a bumblebee.  They have a pig-like snout,
large ears, and tiny eyes that are mostly covered by fur.   These bats emit
sounds through their nose or mouth in a frequency from 14,000 to over
100,000 hertz (way over the human hearing range) to find their way and
their prey.  Their range is limited to small areas of Thailand and Myanmar.
Due to habitat destruction, the populations are on the decline, and we still
have more to learn about them.
