What's a Box jellyfish?

Box jellyfish are one of the most venomous organisms in the world.
Imagine yourself wading through warm shallow water at a beautiful beach
somewhere in Australia when you suddenly feel a sharp burning sensation
 like you’re being branded with hot irons.  The tentacles stick to your
hands as you try to remove them!  If you’re lucky, you’ll only be left with
raised blisters and rotting skin.  If you’re not so lucky, your breathing will
stop and cardiac arrest will occur.  Your untimely demise caused by a small
nearly invisible jelly, Chironex fleckeri, whose named is derived from the
Greek words meaning “hand murderer.”  Beware of box jellyfish!
